Download the plugin ZIP file from the [download link](https://api.gistmag.co.uk/downloads/wordpress-blog-meta-generator-plugin) 2. Log in to your WordPress admin panel 3. Go to **Plugins** → **Add New** → **Upload Plugin** 4. Choose the ZIP file (`gistmag-blog-generator.zip`) and click **Install Now** 5. Click **Activate** ## Configuration ### 1. Get Your API Key 1. Sign up at [GistMag Dashboard](https://gistmag.co.uk/dashboard) 2. Navigate to **API Keys** section 3. Create a new API key if you don't have one 4. Copy your API key ### 2. Configure the Plugin 1. Go to **GistMag Blog Meta** in your WordPress admin menu 2. Enter your API key in the **API Key** field 3. (Optional) Set your preferred default image style 4. (Optional) Enable **Auto-Apply Results** to automatically apply generated metadata 5. Click **Save Changes** ## Usage ### Generating Blog Meta Elements 1. Create or edit a blog post in WordPress 2. In the post editor sidebar, you'll see the **GistMag Blog Meta Generator** meta box 3. Enter or verify the post title (it auto-fills from the editor) 4. Select your preferred image style (realistic, illustration, abstract, minimalist, or photographic) 5. Click **Generate Meta Elements** 6. Wait for the AI to generate images, excerpt, category, and tags (this may take a minute) ### Applying Generated Elements Once generation is complete, you'll see: * **Generated Images**: Three AI-generated images with a "Set as Featured" button for each * **Excerpt**: A concise summary with an "Apply to Post" button * **Category**: A suggested category with an "Apply to Post" button * **Tags**: A list of suggested tags with an "Apply to Post" button Click the respective buttons to apply each element to your post. The buttons will change color to indicate they've been applied. ### Setting Featured Images 1. After generating images, click **Set as Featured** on any image you like 2. The plugin will download the image from Supabase Storage and set it as your post's featured image 3. Images are automatically uploaded to Supabase Storage and returned as public URLs for easy use 4. The page will refresh to show the new featured image ### Auto-Apply Feature If you enable **Auto-Apply Results** in the plugin settings, the generated excerpt, category, and tags will be automatically applied to your post when generation completes. ## Image Styles Choose from five different image styles: * **Realistic**: Photorealistic images that look like real photographs * **Illustration**: Artistic illustrations and drawings * **Abstract**: Abstract and artistic representations * **Minimalist**: Simple, clean, and minimal designs * **Photographic**: High-quality photographic images ## Pricing Each generation request costs **3 credits**. This includes: * 3 AI-generated images * 1 excerpt * 1 category * 5-8 tags ## Troubleshooting ### "Please enter a post title first" Error Make sure you have entered a title in the post editor. The plugin will auto-fill the title field, but you can also enter it manually in the meta box. ### Featured Image Not Setting * Ensure you have proper file upload permissions * Check that your WordPress installation has enough disk space * Verify your API key is valid and has sufficient credits * Images are downloaded from Supabase Storage URLs, so ensure your server can access external URLs ### Tags Not Applying * Make sure you're logged in as an administrator or user with edit permissions * Check that the tags meta box is visible in your post editor * Try refreshing the page after applying tags ## Support For issues, questions, or feature requests, please visit our [support page](https://gistmag.co.uk/support) or check the [documentation](https://docs.gistmag.co.uk).
